La Pedrera celebrates Christmas with Maria del Mar Bonet

Christmas is coming to La Pedrera, and it is celebrating by scheduling a variety of concerts and activities for the entire family. One of the most exciting concerts will feature Maria del Mar Bonet, who will perform at La Pedrera on Friday 27 December. The Majorcan artist has been performing onstage for more than 50 years, and she is celebrating by concluding her tour at La Pedrera’s auditorium.
The concert she will offer at La Pedrera after Christmas will be the end to a very special, unique holiday in Barcelona.
The Barcelona Big Blues Band, made up of thirteen musicians conducted by double-bassist Ivan Kovacevic, will be in charge of bringing Christmas to La Pedrera on Friday 20 December at 8 pm, this time featuring the voice of Myriam Swanson.
The concert will include typical Christmas tunes along with other lesser known and more surprising songs in the purest American style, harking back to the big rock ‘n’ roll and classic rhythm & blues orchestras, with a single goal in mind: to help the audience at La Pedrera enjoy Christmas blues with all their soul!
Yet another year, The Magic of Christmas will overtake La Pedrera with an entire afternoon designed just for children. On Monday 30 December from 4:30 to 7 pm, families can enjoy plays, magic, clowns and creative Christmas workshops.
The family workshop “An animal Christmas” will be held several days between 14 December and 4 January. With this workshop, children will make Christmas decorations in the shape of Gaudí-style animals like the ones on the balconies of La Pedrera.
