Yet another year, children and adults alike enjoyed themselves and learned in the plethora of activities on food and cuisine featured in the 7th edition of the Alícia’t Festival at Món Sant Benet. It featured more than 150 activities for foodies, adults and families ranging from cooking workshops for all ages to live show cooking with prestigious chefs, culinary demonstrations, shows and children's entertainment, a huge agro-food market, special tours of the monastery and the rumba concert featuring the band Sabor de Gràcia on Saturday.
Visitors were able to discover what was cooking in the kitchen of the prestigious El Bulli and how some dishes can be adapted to their own kitchens; they learned the tricks to making delicious empanadas and athletes’ diet secrets; and they made some recipes from the Neolithic and were able to hear the cooking secrets of master chef Carles Gaig, among other activities. It was an intense, productive weekend with easy, healthy fun cuisine in the spotlight. In fact, the visitors took up almost all the 3,000 places available in the workshops.
Alícia't, the culinary festival of the counties of Barcelona, is an initiative of the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, the Alícia Foundation and the Barcelona Provincial Council which is held every spring at the Món Sant Benet complex. The initiative attracts thousands of people over a single weekend every year, and it is Món Sant Benet’s effort to share the work done by the Alícia Foundation with the philosophy of learning while having fun.
