The exhibition 'Bill Viola. Mirrors of the Unseen’ continues in Madrid
Today in Madrid, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, in conjunction with Bill Viola Studio and the Telefónica Foundation, presented this unique artist through around 20 works which serve as a survey of his career, from important early works such as Reflecting Pool (1977-1979), until today.
This exhibition, the first anthology of Bill Viola's works in Barcelona, is coming to the Telefónica Foundation Space in Madrid until 17 May 202 to reaffirm the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation’s steadfast commitment to contributing to disseminating the most important proponents of contemporary creation.
Bill Viola (New York, 1951), considered a pioneer in the development of video art, is one of the most prominent artists internationally. His work, which has evolved parallel to video technology, explores the human condition by addressing universal themes like birth, death, love, pain and redemption.
The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation promotes cultural activities that foster the arts and thinking and seek to reflect for a fairer society. It promotes talent, creation and education and conserves the natural and cultural heritage.
