Session at MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre and Alfacada
The session
In this weekend session you can take advantage of:
- Resident and migratory birds: ring attachment and census
- Nature photography
- Project for the restoration of the salt marshes and coastal ponds
The space hosting this session is the MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre, a large centre designed for understanding and enjoying the magic of the Delta. Salt, traditional fishing and bird watching are the three main driving forces that move and lead the MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre, formed by a set of spaces that give value to this territory and the biodiversity that surrounds it.
The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation restored the lands of the old salt marshes in La Tancada, with a surface area of 41.2 hectares, highlighting the environmental value of the area through different visitable spaces and a proposal of recreational and educational activities for getting a closer look at the value of this lagoon area.
The Alfacada lagoon is the second space owned by the Foundation in the area of the Ebro Delta. This space, located a few kilometres further north of La Tancada lagoon, where the MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre is located, forms a very special biodiversity mosaic and is one of the most important places for bird nesting. Together with La Tancada, the Delta Lagoon Environmental Recovery is included in the LIFE Project. These spaces in a setting as special as the Ebro Delta will be the protagonists and stage of the first Nature Campus session.
