Alinyà Mountain Session
The session
This weekend session takes a look at:
- Study and identification of species: invertebrates and birds.
- Alinyà wildlife: wood grouse and chamois.
- Relationships between humans and nature.
- Study of birds of prey and reintroduction of species.
In this weekend session, you will discover the Alinyà Mountains nature area located in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees and the only region in Europe where the four species of vultures from the European continent can easily nest and be observed: the common vulture, the bearded vulture, the black vulture and the Egyptian vulture. So you can exceptionally observe and study the feeding, behaviour and interaction between these species. In addition, you can also study the populations of butterflies, common birds and wildlife in the area through transects in the countryside. At the same time, you will learn to identify the main plant communities found in the mountains. Finally, you can also get a close-up look at the work of local livestock farmers and put into practice your scientific communication skills.
